We’re delighted to share that we have issued over 5 million FASTags and have also enabled automatic cashless payments at 211 toll plazas across the country. With such remarkable growth, we continue to be the largest issuer of FASTags in India and have also become India’s largest acquiring bank under NETC program.
Furthermore, we are facilitating the movement of over 4 million vehicles through toll plazas every month while aiming to acquire another 100 toll plazas by Jan’21. This isn’t all. We are targeting to issue another 5 million FASTags and achieve 100% growth in FASTag sales in the next 3 months.
What is a FASTag?
FASTag is a simple and reusable tag that works on the Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. It needs to be affixed to the vehicle’s windshield. Each tag is linked to a pre-paid wallet to facilitate instant automatic deduction of toll charges. Paytm Payments Bank has partnered with National Highways Authority of India’s partner (NHAI) as a part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program to allow easy zipping through highway tolls using the Paytm FASTag.
In order to educate people about the convenience of cashless payment at toll plazas and help vehicle owners purchase the tag, we have set up over 20,000 camps at toll plazas, residential parking lots, fuel stations and other commercial areas across the country.
We have also partnered with the dealers of the leading automobile manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Honda Cars India, Kia Motors India Pvt Ltd, MG Motor India,among many others to offer pre-fitted Paytm FASTags at the time of vehicle purchase itself.

How to use Paytm FASTag?
Using Paytm FASTag is very easy. You just need to follow these simple steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Post-purchase, affix the tag to your vehicle’s windshield
Step 2: Add sufficient money to your Paytm Wallet using UPI or from any bank account
Step 3: Enter dedicated FASTag lane at NHAI Toll Plaza. Reader at the plaza will read your tag’s detail and applicable toll charges will automatically get deducted from your Paytm wallet
