1. What is a FASTag?
The FASTag is a simple and reusable tag that works on the Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. It needs to be affixed on the vehicle’s windshield. Each tag is linked to a pre-paid wallet to facilitate instant automatic deduction of toll charges. Paytm Payments Bank has partnered with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as a part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program to allow easy zipping through highway tolls using the Paytm FASTag.
2. What is the fine for not using FASTags on toll plazas?
As per the Govt. of India directive, the vehicles not using FASTags at the NH toll plazas will have to pay double the toll amount from 15th December 2019.
3. Where and how can I buy a FASTag?
Paytm Payments Bank gives passenger vehicle owners an option to buy FASTag online on website or Paytm app and get it delivered free of cost at their doorsteps. The tag issuance cost is Rs. 100, customer needs to pay Rs. 500 where Rs. 250 is for security deposit and Rs. 150 is the minimum balance to be maintained (both of which stay with the user). 4. How can I affix Paytm FASTag on my vehicle?
Once you receive the FASTag, remove the adhesive strip and place it on the top middle of the windshield from inside the vehicle, behind the rear-view mirror.
5. How to use Paytm FASTag?
Paytm FASTag works in a highly user-friendly manner, with minimum effort required from your end. Follow the below steps and zip through NHAI tolls:
Step 1: Post-purchase, affix the tag on your vehicle’s windshield.
Step 2: Add sufficient money to your Paytm Wallet using UPI or from any bank account.
Step 3: Enter dedicated FASTag lane at NHAI Toll Plaza. Reader at the plaza will read your tag’s detail and applicable toll charges will automatically get deducted from your Paytm wallet.
6. What is the delivery and activation process for Paytm FASTag?
Your Paytm FASTag will be activated post validation of the vehicle RC scans submitted by you. Tag will be dispatched free of cost to your registered address at the time of purchase.
7. What are the benefits of using Paytm FASTag?
2.5% cashback is applicable on all toll transactions done at NHAI plazas for the financial year 2019-20.
