Through Paytm app, you can transfer money from any bank account to another bank account instantly using UPI payment service which is powered by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India).

Majority of UPI payments gets successful instantly and money is added to the receiver’s bank account at that moment itself.

However, in rare circumstances which are beyond our control, like not receiving a success message from NPCI or receiver bank within a stipulated time, transactions go into pending state.

For pending cases, we keep checking the status with NPCI on regular basis and within 24 hours, we know the final status — success or failure of all payments.

For failed payments, all banks do a reconciliation and add the money back to your bank account within 2 working days

What if I am seeing my bank to bank transfer as a success but money is not added to the receiver’s bank account?

First of all, you should check if you transferred money to the correct account. If not, here is how you can help yourself.

If you have transferred money to the right account, there is a rare event where the bank does not give confirmation of money addition to NPCI despite multiple checks. In such cases, NPCI considers such cases as approved. Such payments are in the reconciliation phase at the receiver’s bank and money is added to the account within 2 working days.

We assure you that your money is safe under all circumstances.
